Getting the word out
The main thing to think about when selling prints through the web is making sure that people see them. If people aren’t looking at them, they surely aren’t buying. We’ve built in a few ways to help you do this, and offer some ideas on things you can do on your own.
Email an Event
On the main Events page (Click the Events tab on the navigation bar), you’ll see a table of all your Events. On the right hand side, next to Delete, there is a link labeled Email. Click it.
You’ll find a screen where you can enter in all of the emails you’ve collected for this Event. This tool can be used to send out several types of email notifications.
You can also email a direct link of a particular image from within your storefront. At the top of each print's sales page is a link that will let you email the image and short message.
Other Marketing Ideas
- Portraits, group photos, and photos with the bride and groom are the best sellers.
- Get as many email addresses as you can, and encourage email forwarding.
- Don’t use the password feature. It’s there because some will demand it, but the more eyes you get on your prints, the more will sell.
- Add lots of photos.
- Talk about your Instaproofs site.
- Make sure to take advantage of upsell add-ons like frames, foam core backing, canvas, borders, or whatever else your lab can do to your photos.
